 Founder of Yoga Garden Sanctuary

Hi, I'm Rae and I love yoga so much that I decided to teach it. Yoga makes me happy, it calms my overactive brain, keeps me grounded and it is the constant  physical and mental wellbeing that I had been searching for.


I believe yoga is for everyone and I teach a wide range of age and abilities. My classes are friendly and relaxed and my groups are small which allows me to work with you on a more personal level and help you achieve your goals.

I  have been teaching for 6 years and I will always be  a  student of Yoga. I  am trained to teach many styles  of yoga which include Hatha, Restorative and Yin. I am particularly  influenced  by nature and the seasons myself and I bring this into my classes.   I look at yoga as being a holistic therapy, the work out is the bonus.  


What to expect in a class.

A typical class is open to all levels. I like to  blend both eastern and western principlesand so incorporate  breathwork ( pranayama) , asanas ( physical poses movement  to bring benefits to the whole self) , meditation and mindfulness.

The physical poses look to address/ maintain movement/ mobility, strength and to a lesser degree flexibility , the other areas of the class focus on harnessing the breath to change state of mind/emotions, calm the nervous system, the wellbeing of the mind and the spirit.  A yoga class at The Sanctuary is a holistic work in.

Other Events and Experiences

Throughout the year I offer mini retreat evenings, yoga and supper clubs and more. I  love bringing people together and sharing my passion for yoga, and then you are invited to take it on the  level that  works for you.

The Studio 

The Sanctuary has been created to give you that pause , a quiet space to reconnect you first with your breath, with nature  and then with your body.  The Sanctuary is the whole place , the green spaces, the sitting areas and the studio.
